* For the first use, trim the wick to 1/4 inch (cotton wicks) or 1/8 inch (wood wicks) and let the candle burn until the entire surface is melted (maximum of 4 hours). Trim the wick again before each subsequent use. It is very important to recenter the wick after using the candle (when the wax is still melted) to prevent the glass from cracking.
