CHASHAKU - Purple Bamboo

Made from a single piece of bamboo, the chashaku is used to measure the precious green powder during the Japanese tea ceremony, chanoyu.

Purple bamboo is a rarer variety than its white counterpart. Aesthetically, it is distinguished by shades of brown, sometimes purple. It should not be confused with smoked bamboo, although they share several similarities at first glance.

The handcrafted nature of these chashaku makes them all unique. This is why the color gradients may vary from one to the next.
